José Luis Vicente, known as “Txebiko”, is part of a new but experienced generation of chefs from La Rioja and Spain. From his adolescence he showed interest in gastronomy, completing his training at the Camino de Santiago Hospitality School in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. He has worked at the Asador Egués, La Manduca, El Fogón, Txebiko and Restaurante Cachetero, first as a cook and currently, combining this work with that of the owner of this centennial establishment. He combines this work with the direction of La Brasa de la Laurel, a grill specializing in authentic grilled food.
His explosive smile, his public speaking skills, his original “txapelas” style kitchen hats and his close but always respectful treatment are unmistakable parts of his personality. His gastronomic hallmark is his passion for quality food, prepared with care and respect for tradition, to which he always brings an innovative and personal touch.
